Taylor "Hodges" Motley, Jr., 71, of Charleston, SC, passed away, Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Clemson, SC.

Hodges was born in Danville, VA, son of the late Taylor Hodges and Virginia Page Bass Motley. Hodges was a graduate of George Washington High School and Virginia Tech University. He provided bookkeeping and accounting services until his retirement. He grew up in the First Baptist Church in Danville, VA and was attending Ashley River Baptist Church in Charleston, SC at the time of his death. He loved watching sports (mainly, VA Tech).

Hodges was a diehard Hokie. He loved his family, running (later walking), and had a passion for helping others. Hodges was a dedicated member of the Richmond Jaycees where he spent years helping others in the community. He also spent many years helping the blind.He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Hodges ran and completed the Richmond Newspapers Full and Half Marathon.

Surviving are his children, Aaron Taylor Motley (Mimi Konitzer) of Shelby, NC, Reece Hunter Motley (Sara Bodell Motley) of Charleston, SC; Courtney Motley (Thomas McKinnon) of Harford, WI, and Monica Motley (Hayri Tarhan) of Columbia, MD; sister Page Slayton of Danville, VA; and brother, David Motley (Anne Motley) of Moneta, VA; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 871 Main Street, Danville, VA 24541 on Friday, June 14th, 2019 at 11am. The family will receive friends after the service.
