Terry Medlin

Terry Wayne Medlin, 69, of Easley, South Carolina, loving husband of Jan Wood Medlin, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his home.  

Born in Pickens, South Carolina, on February 24, 1955, a son of the late J.T. and Margaret Medlin. Terry had a mind for innovation and precision, and he dedicated himself to a distinguished career at Fluor as a mechanical engineer, leaving an indelible mark on the field. Terry was not just a man of numbers and calculations but a pillar of love and warmth to all fortunate enough to know him. A devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, his family meant the world to him. His love knew no bounds, and his kindness touched the hearts of many. Beyond his professional achievements and familial roles, Terry’s soul found solace in the simple joys of life. An avid golfer with a keen eye for craftsmanship, he found peace in carpentry and construction projects that showcased his talent and dedication. The soothing waves of Surfside Beach held a special place in his heart, providing him with a sanctuary where he could unwind and reflect. His generosity extended even further as he selflessly built decks for all his family members, leaving behind tangible symbols of his love and care. Terry was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley. 
 
In addition to his wife of 27 years, he is survived by a daughter, Becky Medlin Gregg (Matt); a son, Jacob T. Garrett (Holly); a brother, Jacky Medlin; two sisters, Bobbie Hunter (Ricky), and Diane Goldman (Roger); three grandchildren, Chapman Gregg, Emma Garrett, and Kepleigh Gregg; beloved dog, Chandler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 12:15 PM at Rock Springs Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 PM in the Church Chapel.
