Tex Alan Johnson, 57, husband of Janet Landis Johnson, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Emory University Hospital. A native of Hartford City, IN, he was the son of the late Vearl and Daisy Leach Johnson. He was an active member of Kings Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a supporter and participant of local and international missions.
In addition to his wife he is survived by sons: Lee Johnson of Athens, GA, Lew Johnson and wife Brandi of Uganda and Clay Johnson and wife Heidi of Wake Forest, NC; brother, Rex Johnson and wife Jane Ann of Muncie, IN; sister, Dana Smith and husband Dan of Hartford City, IN; grandchildren, Austin, Elisabeth, and Abigail and a grandson due in September.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am at Kings Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm and will be placed in the church at 10am Wednesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Family Life Center or to the Lottie Moon Missions Offering c/o Kings Grove Baptist Church, 1335 Old Seneca Road, Central, SC 29630
