Theda Mann Anthony, 96, wife of the late Frederick H. Anthony passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at National Health Care, Anderson.
Mrs. Anthony was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late David Claude and Mattie Dillard Mann. She was a beloved teacher in Pickens and Anderson School Districts and later enjoyed visits from many of her former students. After her retirement, she remained active in education. The Garden Club of South Carolina awarded her first place for establishing a garden therapy program. She was guest lecturer to many science classes, sharing her knowledge of the sea and collection of sea shells. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Clemson.
Surviving are two sons, Frederick Anthony of Anderson, and Alan Anthony and his wife, Deborah of Pendleton, a daughter Linda Tuck and her husband, Barton of Greenville; grandchildren Jill Strickland and her husband, Steve, Rob Anthony and his wife, Mary Nell of Anderson, Jason Anthony and Cory Paul and her husband, Bradley of Greenville; great grandchildren, Rebecca Strickland and Ellie and Bella Anthony.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
