Thelma Karr Barrett

Thelma Karr Barrett, 95, of Central, wife of the late H.B. Barrett, passed away October 18, 2024.

Born in Westminster, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dean Karr and Lillian Cox Karr. Mrs. Barrett worked for Clemson University, retired as a Lab Technician. She was a long-time member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a part of the Naomi-Ruth Sunday School Class. Thelma enjoyed cooking, working with flowers, and shopping, but her greatest love was her time spent with family.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her daughter, Harriet White and husband Gary of Central; son, Stanley Barrett (Monique) of Six Mile; sister, Betty Kelley of Pendleton; grandchildren, Shelley Powell and husband Craig and Niki Hagood; great-grandchildren, Garrett Powell, Garner Powell, Grace Powell, Jadon Hagood, and Karlyn Hagood.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and brothers, Hoyt Karr and Joe Karr.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
