Thelma Cook Bentley Bays, Age 87, passed away November 3, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, South Carolina.

Mrs. Bays, formerly of Whitesburg, Kentucky, was the daughter of Louis and Susan Cook. Thelma worked for Dawahares in Whitesburg before moving to Florida in 1969. She later moved along with her husband Hubert to Anderson in 2006. She was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter Mabel Carroll (Lee) of Jensen Beach, FL, grandson Ronald B. Carroll (Dayna) of Stuart, FL and three great grandsons ? Bentley, Jackson and William Carroll of Stuart; brother Riley Cook (Opal) of Whitesburg; step-children ? Charles Bentley (Willodean) of Gardendale, AL, Dwayne Bays of Carey, OH, and Mary Ruth Hare (Keith) of Anderson, SC.

In addition to her parents Thelma was predeceased by husbands James Bentley and Hubert Bays as well as three sisters and two brothers ? Hazel Brown, Esta Smith, Mabel Cook, Elmer Cook and Edgar Cook; and by two step-children ? William R. Bentley and Deborah Bays Ledford.

A private service will be held in Florida at a future date.
