Thelma Smith Chapman, 81, wife of the late John H. Chapman, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Chapman was born in McCormick, was a daughter of the late James Wyley and Annie Thrift Smith. She was a weaver at Cannon Mills and a member of Central Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are two sons, John (Cynthia)Chapman of Central, Eddie (Judy) Chapman of Sandy Springs; one daughter, Gail (Steve) Hughes of Central; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, James, and Billy Smith and two sisters, Eula Cupstid and Jackie Bowen.

The family will receive friends at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, on Tuesday August 18, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Central Church of God of Prophecy with burial to follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Central Church of God of Prophecy, 269 West Old Pendleton Road, Central, SC 29630.
