Thelma Stansell Davis, 83, of 500 Burns Road, loving wife of the late Johnnie B. Davis, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, April 24, 2007.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late J.O. "Nick" and Essie Looper Stansell, Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and an active member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church where she belonged to the Annie Brandt and the Joy Sunday School Classes. She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years and was a willing Servant of the Lord. Mrs. Davis had also been active with Meals-On-Wheels.

Surviving are four daughters, Rita Straker and her husband, Dr. Mike Straker, Deborah Gillespie and her husband, Paul, Phyllis Jennings and her husband, Roy, and Leigh Hall, all of Easley; a brother; Pete Stansell and his wife, Maxie, of Clearwater, FL; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Kolbe, Kevin Straker, Kathryn Straker, Wesley Strickland, Zachary Childress, Sommer Hall, and Hannah Goldsmith; two great-grandchildren, Jack Kolbe and Aubrey Key; a special nephew, Jimmy Sprouse, and a special friend, Gidget. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davis was predeceased by two brothers, Roy Stansell and Obie Stansell, a sister, Virgil Sprouse, and a great-grandson, Logan Strickland.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Geer Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Archie P. Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Geer Memorial Baptist Church, 911 South Fifth Street, Easley, SC 29640.

The family is at the residence.
