Thelma P. Thrift

Mrs. Thelma Porter Thrift, 88, of Pickens, wife to the late Dwight Clarence Thrift, passed away August 12, 2020.
Born in Pickens County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Gladys Spearman Porter. Mrs. Thrift retired from Pickens County School District as a Bus Assistant and Ryobi. Mrs. Thrift was a member of Mile Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Renee Thrift and Judy N. Durham, both of Pickens; son, Skippy Nix (Debbie) of Pickens; daughter-in-law, June Nix of Pickens; sisters, Mary Frances Ellenburg (Joel) of Easley and Ruby Cantrell of Longview, WA; brother, Tommy Porter (Linda) of Chapin; grandchildren, Angela Ellenburg (Kenny), Tina Chapman (Greg), Jody Wilson (Richard), Melissa Aiken (Joey), Mendia Davis, Kiely Nix and Cody Davis; eight great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchild; godchild, Darlene Durham. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Thrift was predeceased by a son, Sammy Nix; sisters, Sara Thrift and Irene Thrift; and brother, J.B. Porter.
Friends of Mrs. Thrift may pay their respect on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens. Scroll to the video player below to view the service. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the family request that all attending service observe social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
The family will be at their respective homes.
