Theodore Andrew “Ted” Corontzes, 58, of Central, SC, husband to Karen Flanders Corontzes, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2024.
Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Annette Siokos “Netta” Corontzes of Columbia, SC, and the late Harry Nicholas Corontzes. Ted attended Clemson University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a family partner in Pixie and Bills and Calhoun Corners restaurants in Clemson. Ted had a great love for both his personal and work families and had many treasured friends. In his free time, Ted enjoyed boating, riding horses, vacationing at the coast, making new acquaintances, and riding in the convertible with his beloved poodle Tipsy. You could always find him on Wednesday mornings browsing through the flea market.
In addition to his wife and mother, Ted is survived by a daughter, Ella Elizabeth Corontzes of Pendleton, SC; two sons, Theodore Seth Corontzes of Central, SC, and Stephen James Sexton of Austin, TX; four brothers, Zachary John Corontzes and wife Beth of Clemson, SC; Stephen Alexander Corontzes and wife Julia of Conway, SC; George James Corontzes and wife Lesa of Clemson, SC; and John Zachary Siokos of Greenville, SC; a mother-in-law, Janet Reed Ingram of Aiken, SC; a sister-in-law, Nancy Barton Corontzes of Clemson, SC. He was preceded in death by his brother, Nicholas Harry “Nick” Corontzes.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts, Clemson University, 141 Jersey Lane, Clemson, SC 29634.
The family will receive friends prior from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. in the lobby of the Brooks Center.
