Theodore "Ted" Eugene Shipman, Jr., of 703 Zion School Road, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the V.A. Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Mr. Shipman was born in Greenville, a son of Sarah Tripp Brown, of Easley, and the late Theodore Eugene Shipman, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the D.A.V. and a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are sisters, Elizabeth Putman and her husband, Robert, of Easley, SC and Sue van Zeeland and her husband, Frans, of Kansas City, Kansas ; faithful friends, Jack Gilliland, Kitty and Ed Speed.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, James William Brown ; his maternal grandmother, Dot Tripp ; a brother, Jerry M. Shipman, Sr. ; and a sister, Nancy S. White.

Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church - United Methodist Women, 432 Zion Church Road, Easley, SC 29642.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley, with the Reverend Mike Cox officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Sarah T. Brown, 703 Zion School Road, Easley.
