Thomas Randall Ausburn Jr., lovingly known as Tommy, was born on May 5, 1964, and left this world on June 3, 2025. His passing marks a profound loss for all who knew him. Tommy was a man of countless talents and a heart that was as expansive as his cherished memories.
For many years, Tommy devoted his professional life to the art of mechanics, making a name for himself along the motor mile. He followed in his father's footsteps with pride and passion, becoming an excellent mechanic who built lasting relationships with everyone he met. This dedication to his craft eventually transformed into a shared passion for cars with his beloved son, showcasing the depth of his love for family.
Tommy was not only a skilled mechanic; he was also a gifted musician. His musical journey saw him serve as the organist for Siloam Baptist Church for 15 years before moving on to Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he continued his service for 16 years. His melodic voice graced the choir at Rock Springs, and he cherished the opportunity to sing at weddings and funerals. Above all, it was the moments spent singing for his wife and family that brought him the greatest joy.
A man of good heart and strong faith, Tommy was admired and loved by many. With a warmth that drew people in, he never met a stranger; rather, he made friends at every turn. His generous spirit and kindness were evident in his interactions, as he cherished his family, treating them like precious jewels.
Tommy adored spending time with his family, creating beautiful memories through trips to the mountains for hiking and sightseeing. He delighted in simple joys, whether it was visiting the beach, exploring Biltmore, or discovering other wondrous places together. These family outings were not just vacations for Tommy; they were the essence of his happiness, embodying everything that was most important to him.
Tommy is survived by his wife, of 33 years, Theresa Ann Ausburn, his children Ryan Thomas Ausburn and Whitney Lauren Ausburn, as well as his sister Traci Ausburn and nieces and nephews Chris and Nicole Stansell, Maria, Amber, Karleigh, Alex, and Samantha Cantu.
He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas Randall Ausburn Sr and Emma Grace Ausburn.
His warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. Tommy's legacy will continue to resonate through the hearts of friends and family, forever remembering the love he shared so freely.
A visitation will take place on June 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Rock Springs Baptist Church, located at 201 Rock Springs Rd, Easley, SC 29642, with a funeral service following at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow immediately after at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens, SC.
