Thomas D. Cooper

Thomas Daniel Cooper, 81, of 213 North B Street, husband of Dorothy Dowling Cooper of the home, died Sunday, October 29, 2006, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, a son of the late Oscar and Alice McCall Cooper, Mr. Cooper was a US Army veteran of World War II having served in the occupation of Japan. For many years he owned and operated Cooper Dairy Farm on Holland Road in Simpsonville, receiving many honors and serving on a number of related associations.
Mr. Cooper was very involed in several churches over the years, including serving as elder and treasurer. At the time of his death he was Elder Emeritus of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Easley. One of his passions was his love and support of missionaries, both home and abroad. Many, many people around the world have been beneficiaries of his prayers and generosity.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a sister, Eliza Mae Lazar of Taylors;a brother Franklin Cooper, and his wife Mildred,of Medina, NY; a sister-in-law,Mable Cooper of Idaho; a brother-in-law, Henry Dowling of Cullowee, NC; step sons, Wilson Kittrell Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Broadway, NC and Grady D. Kittrell of Montgomery AL; a niece and several nephews; and a special friend and housekeeper, Cindy Moore. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was pre-deceased by a brother, Marvin Cooper, a niece, Marilyn Nichols, and by his first wife, Mary Austin Cooper.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4500 Highway 86, Easley, with Rev. Stephen Perkins officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missions Fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4500 Highway 86, Easley, SC 29642, or to the charity of one's choice.
