Easley

Thomas Earle Couch passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, after a long illness.  He was born in Dacusville, SC, on August 12, 1934, and lived the last years of his life in Powdersville, SC, with his devoted wife, Nancy.   May of this year marked their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Tom started working very young in the garment industry and that is where he spent his career.  He had a lifelong passion for Beagling and was never happier than when he was in a field with fellow beaglers, judging or participating in a trial.  He also had a passion for his church and made every effort to attend services, even in his last days.

Besides his beloved wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children, Robert “Barry” Couch (Risa), Nancy Janich (Peter), Lisa Chapman, and eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. As well as Annette Cartee, who has been a loving part of the family, not by blood, but by choice for many decades and who has taken great care of Tom for the past many weeks.

Tom is predeceased by his parents, Domer and Edna Couch, and his siblings, Kenneth Couch, Joyce Jones, and Audrey Robinson.
