Thomas Frederick Hare, husband of the late Jo Manley Hare, passed away on July 19, 2024 at the age of 80.
Born on March 26, 1944, he was a son of the late John and Walter Rena Karr Hare.
After proudly serving his country for from 1964 - 1985 in the Air Force and achieving the rank of Master Sergeant, Thomas dedicated his time to various careers. He worked diligently at establishments such as Jacobs Chuck Manufacturing, Ingles, Ohio Gear, Phillips Fiber, and Walmart throughout his professional journey.
Thomas was a graduate of Daniel High School and held a deep passion for building things and spending time outdoors. Whether he was engaged in yardwork, gardening, or fishing, it was evident that he found solace in these activities.
He is survived by his loving children: sons Patrick Kelley (Mimi Metcalf Kelley) of Clemson and Timothy Kelley of Liberty; his daughter Mary Stone (Alan) of Liberty; grandchildren Zachary Hare Poole of Seneca, and Erica Stone of Liberty; as well as his great-grandchildren Aiden Duke, Mason Duke, Noah Smith, Jo-Jo Hare, Alyssa Hare, Jacoby Poole, Colton Poole, and Carolina Poole. Thomas also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Norman Elliott (Jackie) of Honea Path, Debbie Outzs of Edgeville, Billie Hair (Tina) of Westminster, Sherri Roach (Raymond), Lisa Elliot of Atlanta GA; Susan Herman; Patty Gossett; along with his brother Barry Julian (Jane), and his best friend Michael Blair of Barstow, CA.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Jo Manley Hare, grandson Joshua Hare, and his siblings Roy Hair, Frances Hair Dunn, and Mary Elliott.
A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate the life of Thomas will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central, S.C. on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
