Thomas Jefferson Holbrooks, 82, of 411 Sharon Church Rd., Liberty died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Hospice House in Anderson. He was born January 17, 1925 in Toccoa, GA. He was the son of the late Arthur and Geneva Holbrooks. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII where he served on a destroyer, the USS Shea DM-30. He received the Purple Heart in the Pacific for injuries recieved near Okinawa. He received the Naval Unit Presidential Commendation Award, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the American Expedition Medal. He was a retired antique dealer and cattle farmer. Tommy was a member of Pendleton First Baptist Church for 56 years. He was a dedicated Scout Master to Boy Scouts of America and active in Scouting for 18 years where he received the Silver Beaver Award. He belonged to the American Legion and The Exchange Club.

Surviving are his wife Carolyn White Holbrooks of the home; sons, Gregory Jeff Holbrooks and his wife Terri of Mooresville, NC, Van Thomas Holbrooks and his wife Lisa of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Joshua, Christina, Christopher and Ashley; sister, Frances Shiflet, Anderson; brothers, Lawrence and Harold Holbrooks, Westminster. Preceding him in death were brothers, Ralph, Lindberg and Glenn Holbrooks.

Internment services will be Monday at 11 am at Pendleton First Baptist Church Cemetery followed by a memorial service in the church. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the church. Ministers will be Dr. Rev. Courtney Krueger and Rev. Jimmy Cox.
