Thomas E. McPeak, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Mr. McPeak was born in Topeka, Kansas, a son of the late Victor Harold and Agnes Downey McPeak. Tom worked in commercial design, starting in the film industry and continued with employment at WIBW radio and television. He was retired as professor of Art at Clemson University and also taught at Kent State, Washburn University and Tri County Tech. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Audra Phelon McPeak; two sons, Shawn McPeak of Inman and Timothy McPeak of Clemson; four daughters, Michele Strickland (Frank) of Seneca, Mary Von Kaenel(Karl) and Erin McPeak both of Clemson and Aimee Dunnam (Daniel) of Royse City, TX; grandchildren, Risa Leipelt (Brendan), Karin Raymond (Robert), John Von Kaenel, Samantha Kennedy, Connor and Phoebe McPeak and Leah Strickland. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Fieger and William McPeak; two sisters, Marguerite Stein and Larue Rose McPeak.
Memorial services will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 A. M. and the family will receive friends following the service at the church.
