Thomas Joseph Overman

Thomas Joseph Overman, 72, of Easley, loving husband of Nancy Lynn Overman, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home.

Thomas was born on January 31, 1951, a son of the late John Benjamin and Edith Cowan Overman in Marshalltown, Iowa. After graduating from nursing school, he went on to become a highly skilled Nurse Anesthetist. Throughout his career, he worked tirelessly to provide top-notch care for his patients and was known for being a patient advocate. His dedication to his profession extended beyond work hours as he taught many nurses coming into the field.

While Thomas was dedicated to his career, he also enjoyed spending time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was sailing with them on their boat which allowed them all to relax and enjoy each other's company. He also loved taking long motorcycle rides with his wife Nancy.

In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, he is survived by a daughter, Melissa Overman; and one brother, William Overman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, John Overman, Frank Overman, Gene Overman, and Charles Overman.

The family will host a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a memorial foundation that supports families of wounded or deceased service members or police officers of one’s choice.
