Rev. Thomas William Searcy, 77, of 212 Hickory Drive, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.

Born in Easley, he was a son of the late Leo and Annie Young Searcy. He was a graduate of North Greenville University and Furman University. Rev. Searcy retired as a Southern Baptist Minister in 1990, having served Hunt's Memorial Baptist Church in Easley, Morningside Baptist Church in Brevard, NC, Hickory Grove Baptist Church of the Green Creek, NC area in Landrum, SC, and Mt. View Baptist Church in Six Mile. He also served on SC Baptist Convention Boards, and NC Baptist Convention Boards. He was currently a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Easley, SC.

Surviving are his wife Vivian Jones Searcy of the home; two daughters, Diane Barnes and her late husband, Jerry Barnes of Easley, Tami Howell and husband Scott of Greer; a brother, Randel Searcy of Easley; a sister, Gloria Vissage of Easley; three grandchildren, Christopher Lee Barnes, Chase Howell, Zachary Howell; and two great grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Barnes.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Rock Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends Thursday night from 7:00 until 9:00 PM and will be placed in the church at 2:00 PM Friday.

Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church; 201 Rock Springs Road; Easley, SC 29642.

Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.
