Thomas Martin "Lefty" Shirley, 65, husband of Joy Seigle Shirley, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at his home.

Lefty was a life long resident of Central, a son of the late Martin and Grace Manley Shirley.  He was a 1975 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School and was a grounds crew coordinator for the Pickens County School District.  Lefty  grew up playing sports and enjoyed playing and watching sports his whole life.  He loved Clemson baseball, dirt track racing, car shows and just about any sports.  He was a family man and loved to be home and enjoyed having family and friends over to eat.  He grew up in Cannon Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 46 years are his two sons, Kendall Shirley and wife, Hope of Liberty and Jackie T. Shirley of Central; his only grandchild, Anna Grace Shirley; and his brother, Jackie D. Shirley and Sandy of Central.

Funeral services will be 3 PM, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central with entombment to follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:50 PM, Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
