Thomas Allen Stephens, 59, of 159 Powder Mill Rd., died Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
Born and raised in Central, he was a son of the late Charley Lester and Alma Lorene Whittle Stephens. A 1969 graduate of D.W. Daniel High school, he was employed at Excelsior-Pendleton Finishing Plant, where he worked for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served from March 1970 to November 1971 with the 3rd Infantry Old Guard in Washington, DC. He was a long time member of the American Legion in Central. He loved his family, friends, ping-pong & theTigers.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Allen (Samantha) Stephens, Jr. of Illinois, Eric Duane (Emilee) Stephens of Kentucky; one daughter, Jessika Lorene (Cory) Landrum of Woodruff; one brother, J.D. (Mildred) Stephens of Piedmont ; three sisters, Alma Kelley of Central, Charlene Hatfied of Liberty and Margaret (Bobby) Crane of Central; and seven grandchildren. In addition to her parents, he was predeceased by four brothers; Frank Stephens, Howard Stephens, Ray Stephens and Larry Stephens.
Memorial services will be 11 AM Saturday, May 22, 2010 at East Clemson Baptist Church with Reverend Eric Stephens and Reverend Gene Gilliam officiating.
Family will greet friends at the church immediately following the service.
The family is at their respective homes.
