Thomas Robert Swenson

The family of Thomas Robert Swenson of Easley, South Carolina, is saddened to announce his passing at the age of 71.

Thomas was born on August 25, 1955, in Niskayuna, New York, to Robert and Gloria Swenson. He attended college in La Crosse, Wisconsin, before continuing his education at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, where he earned his master’s degree in Psychology.

Thomas dedicated 25 years of service to the Calumet County Department of Health and Human Services in Wisconsin, where he served as Behavioral Health Manager.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gloria Swenson. He is survived by his children, Matthew Swenson (Karlee), Tracy Helander (Nicholas), and Nicole Wagner (Patrick); his beloved granddaughter, Eden Joy Helander; his brother, Craig Swenson (Jody); his sister, Julie Klohs; his niece, Kristi Alton; his nephew, Zachary Klohs; and his ex-wife, Mary Swenson.

Thomas was a faithful and active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church of Easley, South Carolina. He enjoyed karaoke and loved spending time outdoors with his dog, Spock. Sports were a true passion for Thomas. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis and was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He also treasured attending Clemson college football games whenever he had the opportunity.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Thomas’s memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
