Thomas “Tommy” John Kolodziejski, 54, of Townville, loving husband of Tanya Pozniak Kolodziejski, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, at his home.
Born on May 26, 1969, in Pensacola, Florida, he was a son of Loretta Poley Kolodziejski and the late Chester John Kolodzieski.
Tommy's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly throughout his life. He established several successful ventures, including Bicycles Plus and Ski's Pizza in Lawrenceville, Georgia, as well as Vision Printing and Graphics in Greenville, South Carolina. Through his business, Tommy fostered many connections within the community. He was not merely a businessman; he was a friend and supporter to all who crossed his path. A kind-hearted gentleman, Tommy was always there to lend a helping hand. He possessed an unwavering determination to assist anyone in need. Whether it was offering guidance or providing practical support, he knew no bounds when it came to extending compassion. Tommy's acts of kindness left an indelible impact on the lives he touched. In his free time, Tommy pursued various hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. Growing up racing BMX in the National Bicycle League (NBL), he developed a deep love for cycling. As an avid athlete, he competed in USA Cycling events in BMX, Downhill, and CrossCountry as a Category 1 racer. Additionally, Tommy showcased his versatility by participating in CycloCross, Road, and Track Events in Category 2. During the late '80s and early '90s, he found solace and camaraderie within Atlanta's skateboarding and street art scene. Beyond his accomplishments and pursuits, it was in his family that Tommy found his greatest joy. His role as a loving husband to his devoted wife was one he cherished deeply. Their bond served as an example of unconditional love and unwavering support. As a father to his children, he nurtured their dreams and encouraged them to embrace life with open arms. The meaningful lessons Tommy imparted will forever shape their lives. The title of grandfather was one Tommy embraced with utmost pride and joy. He treasured every moment spent with his grandson, showering him with love, laughter, and irreplaceable memories. Tommy was adopted. Later when he was 30 years old he found his biological mother and learned he had many siblings who he then developed relationships with.
In addition to his loving wife of 7 years, he is survived by four children, Danyele Rose Kolodziejski, Karly Elise Kolodziejski, Chet Thomas Kolodziejski, and Yelizaveta S. Zherikhova; an adopted sister, Anne M. Kolodzieski; eight siblings, Sherrie Haggett, Todd Donovan, Terri Hankinson, Angela Donovan, Gina McCrory, Albert Van Hoogmoed, Lisa Van Hoogmoed, and Andrew Van Hoogmoed; and a grandson, Orlin Kolodziejski.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Donovan, and Scott Donovan.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. The family will receive friends following the service.
