Thomas Barak Wright, Jr., son of the late Thomas B. and Frances Crunkleton Wright passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in AnMed following a lengthy illness.
Tommy was a graduate of D.W. Daniel High School and graduated from Clemson University in 1984 in Forestry and worked with his family logging business for a number of years. He later attended and graduated from Clemson University with a second degree and began a 12 year teaching career at Edwards Middle School. He was a teacher and coach and later served as the Athletic Director at Edwards. Tommy was a member of Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sisters, Helen Anne Hedden of Central, SC and Betty Lynn Long (William Miller) of Folly Beach, SC; nieces and nephews, Amy Allaire (John), Heather Beam (Todd), Hank Hedden (Laura) and Linsay Long; and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, July 5, 2021 at Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church in Central, SC with Rev. Mollie Reddic officiating. A graveside committal service will be held Friday, 3:00 PM, July 9, 2021 at Highlands Cemetery in Highlands, NC.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:50 AM, Monday, July 5, 2021 in the Fellowship Hall at Lawrence Chapel UMC prior to the service.
Although facial coverings will not be required, it is recommended for those not vaccinated to wear facial coverings as a precaution.
