Thurman Grady " Tim" Painter

Thurman Grady "Tim" Painter, Jr., 79, passed away, Thursday, September 24, 2020 in Powdersville, SC.
Tim was born in Spartanburg, SC, son of the late Lucy Davis and Thurman Grady Painter, Sr. He was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and the SC Criminal Justice Academy. Tim had a long career in law enforcement. He was retired trooper with the SC Highway Patrol, then worked in security at Presbyterian College and he was also a State Constable. Tim attended Clinton First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Tim enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Michelle Hammett.
Tim is survived by sons, Darren Painter (Terri) of Savannah, GA and Daufuskie Island, SC, and Timothy Painter Copeland of Brooklyn, MD; sister, Pattie Watkins (Mike) of Anderson; grandchildren, Brandon Painter, Travis Painter, Holly Hammett, Kara Diaz-Cope and Kristen Diaz-Copeland; and great grandchild, Kali Painter.
Graveside services will be 2 PM, Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Pinelawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Clinton, SC.
The family will greet friends and there will be a public viewing starting at 1:30 PM, Sunday in the mausoleum chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the SC Troopers Association Foundation, 4961 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 https://www.sctroopers.org/sctaf/.
