William Thurmond White, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Rainey Hospice in Anderson.

Mr. White was born in Anderson County and was a son of the late Lewis A. and Nora Barker White. He was retired from the U. S. Postal Service after twenty eight years of service, was a U. S. Army veteran, having received a purple heart, while serving in Europe during WWII and was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Mosher White; one son, Rev. Larry (Becky) White of Silver Spring, MD; one daughter, Sharon (Gary) Thompson of Grove City, PA; three step children, Beverly (Alan) Brauer of Westminster, SC, Wendy (Michael) Sammarco of N. Tonawanda, NY and Robert (Christine) Mosher of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Winfred (Sylvia) White of Westminster, SC; three sisters, Lois Burns of Seneca, Dorothy Evans of Anderson and Verilla Holliday of Sarasota, FL; one sister in law, Janie White of Westminster; four grandchildren, Ariana (Thomas) Wood, Daric Thompson, Joseph Bradley White and Lena (Tori) Rodifer; eight great grandchildren; six step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Newton White and eight siblings.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:50 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church, 700 Issaqueena Trail, Central, SC 29630 or Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
