As a retired auto mechanic, Tim demonstrated an unparalleled work ethic that went hand in hand with his passion for all things automotive. He was a true car enthusiast, dedicated to his craft and to the communities he found within various car groups. His weekends were often spent gleefully attending car shows with his beloved wife, where he found joy not just in the vehicles, but in sharing those moments with his partner. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed listening to country and southern rock music.
Tim’s spirit was reminiscent of a joyful prankster, a mirror image of the humor and warmth he inherited from his father. Friends and family alike cherished his great sense of humor, which lit up gatherings and created memories that will be forever cherished. Tim had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, greeting everyone with a friendly smile and an open heart.
Beyond the grease and tools of his trade, Tim had an unwavering love for football, cheering passionately for the Dallas Cowboys and the Clemson Tigers.
Tim’s proudest accomplishments extended beyond his career; he took great pride in his cooking skills, especially as he delighted in grilling for family gatherings. He and his wife were the heart of the family kitchen, where every meal shared brought loved ones together, bonded by their love for great food and even greater company.
An avid coffee lover, Tim could often be found savoring several pots of coffee a day, each cup fueling his endeavors and engaging conversations with family and friends. His warmth and affection filled every room, making mundane moments unforgettable.
Along with his parents, Tim is preceded in death by brother, Frank Barnes and sister, Susie Wood.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by sons; Timothy "Junior" Barnes, Jr., Zach Dodgens (Courtney) and Dustin Parham (Sabrina); grandchildren, Declan, Levi, Stormi and Addie; brothers, Scott Barnes (Angie) and Joey Barnes (Francy), and sister, Marie Talley ("Talley")
Most importantly, Tim adored his family. He embodied the essence of what it means to be a caring Papa, showering his grandchildren with love and attention, creating bonds that will endure through generations. Tim's legacy lies not only in the memories he crafted but also in the love he spread so abundantly among those fortunate enough to know him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 26, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley.
As we remember Tim, let us cherish his great laughter, his unrivaled camaraderie, and his lasting love for family and friends. His life touched so many, and he will be sorely missed, always remembered as the incredible man who knew how to live life fully and joyously.
