Ms. Tommie Catherine Rice, 98, of Majesty Health and Rehab of Easley, formerly of 514 West Main Street, Easley, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016.

Tommie was born in Pickens County, SC on February 25, 1918 to the late Clayton and Amanda Stephens Rice. She was a sister of the late Private Preston E. Rice who lost his life on "D" Day WW2, and rejoins her family to rejoice in Heaven. Tommie is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a graduate of Easley High School class of 1938, where she excelled in sports and social activities. She was raised in the Glenwood Community of Easley where she made many friends. She is survived by a special cousin Nancy McElhannon, who spent many days of support for her throughout her senior years. There are many other cousins for whom she cared for and loved also.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2016 in the Mausoleum at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
