Tommy Wayne Gardo, 72, husband of Rebecca Cope "Becky" Gardo, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Baptist Easley.
Mr. Gardo was born in Pickens County to the late Bob and Beatrice Marchbanks Gardo. He worked for Alice Manufacturing at the Ellison Plant for the majority of his life as a fixer, until his retirement. A member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church, Tommy belonged to the Auditorium Sunday School Class. He enjoyed taking trips to the mountains and working with wood in his spare time.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 52 years, are a son, Dennis Gardo (Traci) of Easley; a daughter, Nikki Diaz (Mitchell) of Easley; two brothers, Bud Gardo (Geneva) of Pelzer, and Jerry Gardo (Sue) of Easley; two sisters, Sarah Turner of Pickens, and Linda Garrison (Daniel) of Easley; four granddaughters, Kari and Kelli Gardo, and Emily and Zoey Diaz; and a special niece, Janice Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Ellis G. West; and a grandson, Ethan Diaz
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 23, 2013, at Jones Avenue Baptist Church, with the Reverend Dr. Roger Couch officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Children and Youth of Jones Avenue Baptist Church, 614 Ross Avenue, Easley, SC 29640
