Tommy Ray Lawter

Tommy Ray Lawter, 75, husband to the late Carol Lawter, passed away on February 16, 2025. Tommy was born in Spartanburg, SC, to the late James Thomas and Lillie Mae Lawter. 

Tommy served honorably in the Navy for six years, showcasing his dedication and commitment. He was a proud member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church of Walhalla, SC. 

He had a passion for being a handy man, with particular interests in woodworking and repairing electronics. One of his proudest accomplishments was building his own house, a testament to his skills and determination. 

Tommy is survived by brother, Larry J Lawter (Kathy); stepson, David Manos; nieces, Melanie Erkens (Randy) and Melissa Wagner (Stewart); great nieces and great nephews, Stella Walters, Tucker Walters, Katie Wagner, Alex Wagner, and Lane Wagner 

In addition to his wife and parents, Tommy is preceded in death by brother, Gary D Lawter (Carolyn). 

A memorial service will take place in honor of Tommy at 2 PM on Sunday March 2nd, 2025, at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home of Central, SC.
