Tommye Elrod Reeve Townsend, 100, of 738 East Main Street, died, Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at her residence.

Mrs. Townsend was born in Seneca, a daughter of the late Thomas Martin and Mary Elizabeth Malone Elrod.

She was owner and operator of the former Reeves Funeral Home in Easley, owner and operator of Reeves Furniture Stores in Easley and Central and was a former school teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley.

Surviving are; a daughter, Anne R. Hilyer of Easley; grandchildren, Joan Hilyer Phelps and husband, Barry, of Easley, William Britt Hilyer and wife, Susan, of Pickens and Sherry Hilyer Briggs and husband, Ron, of Bellevue, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Joseph Bush, Hilery Hennessee and husband Brad, Zach Hilyer and wife Lori and West Hilyer; great-great grandchildren, Harris and Margot Hilyer. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Clarence Samuel Reeve and John Robert "Bob" Townsend; brothers, Henry and Victor Elrod; sisters, Beulah Abbott, Ruby Smith and Ludie Dockery; son-in-law, William Joseph Hilyer; and a life-long friend, Margaret Virginia "Gee Gee" West.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Friday, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, Easley with Reverend Dr. John Adams and Reverend Tony Kobukowski officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 PM, Friday at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 300 East First Ave, Easley, SC 29640 or to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 900 East Main Street, Suite E, Easley, SC 29640.
