Tony Michael "Smoke" Heatherly, 63, of 184 Holston Valley Circle and husband of Dianne Elizabeth Sherriff Heatherly for 44 years, passed away Wednesday May 15, 2013 at his home after several years of declining health.
Mr. Heatherly was born in Pelzer, SC, the son of Marion Lee Heatherly Jennings, of Roebuck, SC and the late James William Heatherly. He was a life-long musician having played the bass guitar with the Toy Caldwell Band and the Marshall Tucker Band. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War in the Military Police.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three daughters, Tina Heatherly Hinson and her husband, Brian, of Anderson, Paula Delaine Heatherly and Brandy Michelle Heatherly, both of the home; a sister, Susan Heatherly Cantrell and her husband, Tony, of Taylors, SC; three grandchildren, Cody Simmons, Emily Simmons and Mattie Hinson; his step-father, James B. "J.B." Jennings and a brother-in-law, John Rekers.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Melanie Heatherly Rekers.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley. Entombment will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens - Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Members of the Special Edition Band and the Marshall Tucker Band are invited to serve as Escort of Honor for the funeral service.
