Travis Carter, of Piedmont, SC, born on April 8, 1981, was a vibrant soul who brought laughter and light wherever he went. With an infectious smile and a free spirit, he left us too soon on September 1, 2025, but his legacy will continue to rev up the hearts of those who knew him.
Travis dedicated 13 remarkable years to Big Daddy & Son Towing with his father, Sam Carter. where he not only honed his skills but turned his lifelong hobby of automotive restoration into a fulfilling career. His love for classic cars was evident; he had an undeniable passion for his '55 and '57 Chevys, which he adored showing off.
He was the life of every gathering, known for having a wild streak that kept his friends entertained and his family on their toes. Travis had a way of charming everyone around him, using his wit and charisma to light up even the dullest of days.
Among his proudest achievements were his wonderful children. He was known as the "cool dad,” a title he wore proudly! Travis loved nothing more than picking up his kids from school in his hotrod and whisking them away for adventures, such as hitting the Ware Shoals drag strip. He truly embraced the joys of fatherhood, making sure that fun and family were always at the forefront of his daily life.
Travis is survived by his mother, Margaret Carter, his sons, Nicholas Samuel Carter, Trevor Mason Carter, and Brady Tage Carter, his daughters, Alli Marie Carter and Brailyn Stewart, his brothers, Charles “Chuck” Wesley Carter (Kristal), Columbus Hooper (Felicia), Terry Wisham (Nanette), his sister, Shannon LeeAnne Ingle (Walter), his nephews and nieces, Aaron Ingle, Dalton Bragg, Aubrey Carter, and Jackson Carter. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Amy Doolittle, and his best friends Michael and Brandon Saylors, Kasey Holcombe, Aaron Robinson, Michael Bridges, and his uncle, Wesley Ball as well as his friend and the mother of his children, Nicole Carter.
Travis is predeceased by his father, Samuel Carter, and his nephew Canyon Dason Carter.
