Troy Michael Ditton, 60, of Easley, South Carolina, loving husband of Tracey Leigh Ditton, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Born in Waynesboro, Virginia, he was a son of Michael Daniel Ditton and the late Rebecca Ann Thompson Ditton. Troy brought warmth and laughter into every room he entered, his genuine spirit shining like a beacon of positivity. He graced the lives of many with his infectious smile and steadfast humor, always able to conjure joy from the simplest moments. Troy had a special way with words and expressed his love through poetry, writing many poems for his wife over the years. The most cherished of these was the sweet poem he wrote to propose to Tracey, which remains framed in their home today as a testament to their bond. Together for 25 years and married for 10, their relationship was the heart of his world. In his professional life, Troy excelled as an Assistant Operations Manager for The Building Center. His career journey, which started at the Columbia location before leading him to Easley, was marked by dedication and camaraderie. Troy found immense pride in the role, often reflecting on the joy of working alongside a team of men who shared not only professional goals but also a deep-rooted faith. Together, they fostered a spirit of collaboration, supporting one another in both personal and workplace endeavors, creating a tapestry of friendship that mirrored the values he held dear. A proud graduate of Irmo High School, class of 1984, Troy carried the lessons of his youth into adulthood, where family became the cornerstone of his existence. His children were his pride and joy, and he took every opportunity to share their accomplishments with colleagues and friends, celebrating each milestone with unwavering enthusiasm. It was in the laughter shared with his family, the competition of a golf match, and the excitement of game days cheering for the USC Gamecocks, the Dallas Cowboys, and Duke Basketball, that Troy found life’s richest moments. Troy’s legacy is etched in the hearts of his family, who were everything to him. His loving nature and encouragement acted as a steadfast foundation on which they built their lives. He was a guiding star, illuminating the path for those around him with love and laughter. Those fortunate enough to have experienced his presence will forever cherish the memories of a man who embodied kindness and positivity. As we remember Troy Michael Ditton, let us hold close the joy he brought into our lives and the lessons of love, laughter, and camaraderie that he so effortlessly imparted. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the blessing to know him.
