Troy Thomas Porter, 88, formerly of Prince George Road, husband of the late Adilene Stegall "Petie" Porter, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Baptist Hospital Easley.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late John William and Essie Duncan Porter, Mr. Porter retired as a self employed building contractor, and was a charter member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church where he belonged to the Men's Bible Class. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army in France.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Crowe (Robert), and Rebecca Glasby, all of Easley; two brothers, Lee Porter and Ray Porter, both of Easley; a sister, Ruth Kircus of Easley; three grandchildren, Robbie Crowe (Kelley) of Liberty, Tommy Crowe (Mandy) of Easley and M.J. Glasby. of Easley. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Porter was predeceased by a son-in-law, Eddie Glasby, a sister, Pauline Ragsdale and by a brother, Grady Porter.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Rodney Jeanes and Rev. Paul Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank The Magnolias staff for their loving care of Mr. Porter since January of 2008.
