Mr. Union B. Bowers, 97, husband of the late Rosa Mae Fant Bowers, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Northwoods Senior Living and Memory Care, Sumter, SC.
Born in Franklin County, GA, a son of the late Will and Ethel Bennette Bowers, Mr. Bowers retired from Singer with thirty-two years of service, and was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church. He was a US Navy Veteran having served in WWII.
Surviving are a son, Robert P. Bowers, Sr. of Easley; a brother, Donnie Bowers of Six Mile; three grandchildren, Robert Preston Bowers, Jr., William Scott Bowers, and Jenifer Bowers Wilson. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bowers was predeceased by a son, William A. Bowers; one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, February 9, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Easley.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Family members are at their respective homes.
