Vella Phillips Massengale

Vella P. Massengale, 80, wife of Reverend EJ Massengale, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020.

Born in Anderson County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Jessie Phillips and the late Jeanette Ledford Phillips, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her church family and she was a minister's wife for 55 years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 64 years, are sons, Steve Massengale (Marla) and Timothy Massengale (Tina) both of Powdersville; a daughter Melinda Cooper (Tim) of Powdersville; a brother, Ronnie Phillips of Tennessee; sisters, Vennia Miller (Doyle) of Tennessee, Judy Mills (Tim) of Ohio and Robbie Dyke of Tennessee; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Scroll to the video player below to view the service. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Due to Covid-19 attendees are asked to wear a mask and social distance.
