Velma Collins Payne, 82, of Easley, wife of Rev. Willard Lee Payne, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at her home.

Born July 23, 1932 in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late John and Irene Brooks Collins. Mrs. Payne was a homemaker, a Pastor's wife and helpmate to her husband for more than fifty-nine years. She was a member of East Clemson Christian Fellowship where she taught the Ladies Sunday School Class for many years.

In addition to her husband of sixty-five years, she is survived by her sons, John Payne (Shelly) and Keith Payne; daughters, Anita Culbertson (Bryon) and Tamera Bowers (Thomas); brothers, Harold Collins and Doyle Collins; grandchildren, Scott Payne, Nicole Payne, Kensley Burnett, Lindsay Wright and Michaela Bowers; two great-grandchildren, Maddox Forrester and Natalie Culbertson.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her grandson, Jordan Culbertson, sister, Edith Cartee; brothers, Furman Collins and J.D. Collins; and a special nephew, Jerry Cartee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2015 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of her daughter, 101 Ariel Way, Easley.
