Mr. Ventura Roa, 98, beloved widower of the late Carmen Roa, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020.
Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Maria Soto Roa and the late Inocencio Roa.
Mr. Roa proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II and later retired from his own businesses working as a travel agent and insurance sales representative. He attended both St. Mary Help of Christians Church and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, both in Paterson, NJ. Mr. Roa was a former member of Paterson Elks Lodge #60 in Elmwood, NJ and was an avid book ready and historian. Mr. Roa also was a beloved advisor to anyone who would seek his guidance.
Surviving are his son, Louis Roa of NJ; his daughter, Digna Roa of Easley; three grandchildren, Shannen Mendieta, Rachel Mendieta, and Bryen Mendieta; and two great-grandchildren, Zayden Mendieta and Karlyia Mendieta.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Salvador Rosa; a brother, Antonio Roa; and four sisters, Lydia Roa, Blanca Roa, Adela Roa, and Ramona Roa.
