Mrs. Vera "Avenell" Lesley Chandler, 85, wife of the late John William Chandler, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at her home.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late William Anderson and Minnie Lee Lesley, Mrs. Chandler was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Dacus (Mike) of Easley and Brenda Byce (Steven) of Greenville; three sons, Michael Chandler, Sr. (Alice) of Piedmont, John Chandler and Craig Chandler both of Greenville; seven brothers and six sisters; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs, Chandler was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Chandler.

Funeral services will be at noon Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Danny Moore and Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 until noon Friday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Brenda and Steven Byce, 109 Seattle Slew Lane, Greenville, SC 29617.
