Verla Jean Hunter

Verla Jean Hunter, 87, wife of the late James D. Hunter of Easley, SC, went on to be with her lord and savior on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Born in Easley, SC, she was known by everyone as a very loving person who always had a smile on her face. She loved to cook and bake. Her family loved her pecan pies, black walnut cake, and pound cakes Verla worked for the Pickens County School District for over 30 years and was a Lunchroom manager for West End Elementary School and was everyone’s favorite lunchroom lady. She was a lifetime member of Easley First Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are daughters, Pam H. Smith (Marty) of Easley and Tracey H. Weaver (Danny) of Pickens, and brother, Wayne Turner of Pickens.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Donald Eugene Turner.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 31, 2023, at Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642. Visitation will be after the service at the graveside.
