Vernon Glen Clark, 86, of Pickens, South Carolina, beloved husband of the late Arlene Duckworth Clark, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023.

Born on February 22, 1937, in Idaho Springs, Colorado, he was a son of the late Floyd and Alice Clark. Throughout his life, Vernon worked as an electrician and was well-respected for his dedication and skill in his chosen profession. He took great pride in his work and was known for his attention to detail. Whether it was solving complex electrical problems or ensuring the safety of those around him, Vernon always approached his job with a sense of professionalism and commitment. Beyond his career, Vernon's true legacy lies in the remarkable person he was. He possessed a kind heart and a generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. There was never a moment when Vernon turned away from someone seeking assistance; he genuinely cared about making a positive impact in the lives of others. Vernon's role as a father was one that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He cherished every moment spent with his children, creating happy memories that will forever be treasured. As a grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, he showered his descendants with love and support. His guidance and wisdom will continue to shape their lives for generations to come. In addition to his family and career, Vernon also proudly served in the Army. His military service further exemplified his selflessness and dedication to serving others. His brave contributions are recognized with gratitude.

He is survived by four children, Penny Walden, Glenna Daugherty, Kenneth Clark, and Floyd Clark; a brother, Ernest Clark; and a sister, Lorie Smith. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Benny Clark.
