Vernon Wayne Tingley, 92, of Anderson, passed peacefully Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.
He was born in Hymera, IN to the late Wayne D. and Beulah Stark Tingley.
Vernon was a US Army veteran who served proudly in WWII. He worked after his military service for the US Navy as an ammunition inspector. He was of the Baptist faith.
Vernon was a proud member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Lion's Club, Elk Lodge, Scottish Rite, and was a Free Mason all while living in Indiana prior to moving to South Carolina.
Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Tingley are his daughter, Michelle Evans (Neal) of Piedmont; sister, Rosemary Saputo (Anthony) of Sun City West, AZ; grandchildren, Ashley Evans of Hodges and Matthew Evans of Piedmont.
A service will be held by family at a later date.
