Bobbie Jean Jones Moody

May 17, 1934 — April 22, 2022

Easley

Vetrah “Bobbie Jean” Moody, age 87, of Norfolk, Va. passed away peacefully April 22, 2022 and is with our Heavenly Father.  In heaven, she joins the love of her life,  Don and her family and friends who preceded her.

Born in High Point, NC, she was the daughter of late Hugh Willis and Bertha Jones.  She is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Jones.  She is survived by her loving children, Cheree Mercier (Steve) and Donald Moody, Jr. (Dana);  6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Bobbie was an active member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church, Norfolk, VA (New Heights Fellowship) for over 50 years and was the first woman deacon elected in the church.  Bobbie sang in the choir and in her later years when she couldn’t sing, she hummed her favorite hymns. Bobbie retired from civil service after 40+ year of service.  Starting as a clerk typist in high school, she worked her way up to Deputy Comptroller at Little Creek Amphibious Base, Va Beach, Va. Mom was our biggest cheerleader and foundation, always wanting what was best for her family.  Mom was a strong Christian woman for that we are blessed.
Our family wishes a heartfelt thank you to all the many caregivers that made Bobbie’s life so much fun and comfortable over the years.  Special love and appreciation to Linda Brownlow, Dorothy Dodson, Crystal Hullinger, & Sharon McCraney;  truly angels the Lord provided to Bobbie.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.  1 Corinthians 13:13
Bobbie prayed for those around her to know the Lord.  She wanted everyone to know that Heaven is real! He is alive!  Don’t miss out!.  We love you Mom!
