Viola Mae Rackley

March 17, 1943 — October 18, 2018

The greatest dignity to be found in death is the dignity of the life that preceded it. This is a form of hope we can all achieve, and it is the most abiding of all. Hope resides in the meaning of what our lives have been. – Sherwin Nuland, How We Die

Viola Mae Rackley, age 75, entered paradise on October 18, 2018 in the same way that she lived – with dignity and grace. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 1:00pm at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

Viola was born in Greenville to the late W.O. and Ruth Miller. She was a graduate of Greenville High School. As a retired auction clerk, she was a familiar face, along with her husband, Larry, at auctions statewide.

She is predeceased by her husband, Larry Rackley.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Finley (Chris) and Gina Stephens (Kevin) and a son, Steve Rackley (Nancy). She is the proud grandmother of two grandsons, Connor and Dylan Rackley, and a granddaughter, Allie Stephens.

She is also survived by her sister, Hallie Elrod (Donnie) of Pickens and brothers Jerry Miller (Brenda) and Charles Miller (Brenda), both of whom reside in Greenville. She is predeceased by a brother, Bruce Miller.

A special thank you to Miranda and Jennifer of A Remedy Home Care for the loving care provided during her brief illness. Their compassionate care and companionship helped fill her final days with peace and comfort.

A celebration of her life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Joe's Ice Cream Parlor in Easley, SC. This location held special memories of her dating days with Larry, as well as many Sunday meals with her husband and children. Donations to her favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, will be accepted at this event. Friends and family are invited to come share their favorite memories of Viola.

Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or in person at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, which is assisting the family.
