Violet Stone Porter, 90, formerly of 103 North Dale Drive, died Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Easley Living Center.
Mrs. Porter was born in Greenwood County, a daughter of the late Thomas Edgar Stone, Sr. and Cora Cecilia Slaten Stone. She worked at Mayfair Mill - Glenwood Division for forty-nine years and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.
Surviving are sisters, Mildred S. Holcombe and Dorothy S. Griffith, both of Easley and Doris S. Ellison, of Monroe, Georgia
In addidtion to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Porter, brothers, Gordon Stone and Tom Stone, Jr., a baby brother, Benny Stone ; and a sister, Margaret S. Grant.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Reverend Dale McCoig officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
Memorials may be made to Glenwood Baptist Church, 325 Saco Lowell Road, Easley, SC 29640 or to Hallmark Hospice, 117 Broadbent Way, Anderson, SC 29625.
