Virgil Martin Porter, 65, died at his residence on Wednesday, August 8, 2007. He was a native of Anderson County and was the son of Mildred Crowe Porter and the late Alvin R. Porter. He was retired from Central Textiles.
In addition to his mother he is survived by a son, Virgil Dale Porter of Easley; daughter, Deena Porter Gossett and husband Carl of Greer; brother, Robert H. Porter and wife Evelyn of Central; sisters, Bonnie Porter of Central, Estella Bolick and husband Curtis of Central and Maybelle Perry and husband J.W. of Easley; grandchildren Amber, Arianne, Ashton and Kaylee Porter and Karleigh Gossett.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome. The family is at the home of his sister, Bonnie Porter, 208 Richard Road, Central.
