Virginia B. Owens Derrick, 91, of Cameron Blvd, Isle of Palms, wife of Otis R. Derrick passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Savannah Grace Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Born March 13, 1921 in Kanawha County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Harvey H. and Madge Morris Owens. Mrs. Derrick retired from retail management in 1984. She was a member of Advent Christian Church, Ladies of the Shrine and VFW Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband of seventy five years, she is survived by a daughter, Catherine "Sue" Derrick Bartee (Jimmie) of Isle of Palms; two sisters; three grandchildren, Beth, Lee, and Troy; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Carol and grandson, Ricky.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer�??s of Charleston, 2090 Executive Hall Rd. #130, Charleston, SC 29407 or Hospice Center, 676 Wando Park Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407.
