Virginia Tucker Gibson, 75, wife of Charles R. Gibson, of 329 Gibson Road died, Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Hospice of the Upstate. A native of Calhoun Falls, SC and the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Georgia Tucker, she was a registered nurse and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She earned a RN degree from the Anderson Hospital Nursing Program. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pendleton, SC, a former church deacon, children's Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, and nursery worker. She was also a 4-H club leader, Garden Club member, and a Bridge Club member.
Surviving in addition to her husband are sons; Phil Gibson and wife Debbie of Lexington, SC, and Stanley Gibson and wife Beth of Westminster, SC, daughters; Kathy Burdette of Pendleton, SC, and Joy Osgood and husband Kevin of Atlanta, GA, brothers; Harper Tucker and wife Nita of Belvedere, SC, T.M. Tucker and wife Melba of Easley, SC, and sister Annette Jackson and husband Billy of Easley, SC and 8 grandchildren; Adam, April, Ben, and Daniel Gibson, Casey and Carrie Burdette, and Eric and Grant Osgood.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11 am on Saturday at Pendleton First Baptist Church Cemetery followed by a memorial service celebrating the life of Virginia Gibson in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hospice of the Upstate 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or to the First Baptist Church of Pendleton, 351 S. Broad St., Pendleton, SC 29670.
Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
