Virginia Gaines Hyder, 85, of Simpsonville, passed away September 10, 2021.
Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late William Cleveland Gaines and the late Lillie Elton Allen Gaines. She was a member of Return Baptist Church, Seneca, SC. She attended Forest Hill Church in Charlotte, NC until she became unable to travel. Mrs. Hyder was a registered Cosmetologist and owner of Jeannie's Beauty Salon for over 50 years. She cherished spending time with her clients and many other dear friends. She loved Clemson Football. Her real passion, though, was spending time with her family

Surviving children; Alan Hyder of Charlotte, NC and Carole Hyder Holroyd (Will) of Simpsonville, SC. Brothers; John Larry Gaines (Dewilla) of Seneca, SC and Robert Milton Gaines (Bobbie) of Friendsville, TN. Grandchildren; Alaina Holroyd Goss (Marty), Allie Holroyd Lanier (Josh), Cheryl Hyder Woods, Anna Hyder Roche (Brian), Bradley Hyder (Dominique), Melissa Hyder Meeks (Calvin) and Nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hyder was predeceased by brothers and sisters; Allen Gaines, Joe Gaines, Nell Sanders, Martha McLane, and Jean Barker.
She requested to be near her loved ones at Oconee Memorial Park, 1923 Blue Ridge Blvd., Seneca, SC 29672. She has been laid to rest in The Mausoleum, with a private gathering by her immediate family.
